MEDICA PACKAGING UK JOINS COPAPHARM EUROPE

Medica Packaging, one of the UK’s leading packaging manufacturers of folding cartons and patient information leaflets for the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries, has joined market leading packaging alliance Copapharm Europe.

Medica has been part of the Benson Group since 2005, and is based in Cheshire.  Medica was established in the 1920s, and is dedicated 100% to pharmaceutical and healthcare production.

Medica Packaging Managing Director Mark Kerridge commented on the reasons for joining Copapharm:
“The fit is perfect.  We are a dedicated pharmaceutical packaging supplier and will benefit from being part of Copapharm Europe.  Like other Copapharm companies, we have invested significantly in state-of-the-art facilities to mirror the high standards of the pharmaceutical industry, and we place great emphasis on quality and security of product packaging, along with continuous staff training, enabling us to produce the best results with the shortest lead times.”

For Copapharm Europe, Chairman Daniel Keesman said the alliance was pleased to welcome Medica Packaging as a member:
“All our members are market leaders in their respective geographies, and we share knowledge and innovations to provide a better service to our customers while leveraging our position by supporting multi-national projects and business support.  Medica’s experience and market position in the UK strengthens Copapharm’s position tremendously and will greatly enhance the service we offer, locally and internationally.”

Medica Packaging’s parent the Benson Group employs almost 900 personnel across four sites and last year’s revenue exceeded £87 million.

Copapharm Europe companies specialise in producing cartons, leaflets, labels and associated services for leading pharmaceutical and health care customers, including a number of multi-national pharma companies.  Last year Copapharm, which collectively employs 2360 people, produced 6.17 billion cartons, 4.1 billion leaflets and 1.98 billion labels.
